C H A R A C T E R;
NAME: Sora
CANON: Kingdom Hearts
POINT IN CANON: Kingdom Hearts 3, after San Fransokyo but before all of the plot shit happens.
AGE: 16
APPEARANCE: Here
CANON HISTORY: I'm so sorry for all of this.
CANON PERSONALITY:
Throughout his adventures, a lot of Sora's personality is very consistent. He is brave, confident, optimistic, loyal, and very forgiving. He's a generally friendly and likable person, even though his enthusiasm might be a bit much if someone isn't used to it, but he's more likely to just push through that until the person accepts him rather than giving up on them. He will do absolutely anything for his friends, even if means delaying or giving up doing something he wants, such as returning home to be with them.

Of course, Sora is far from perfect. His confidence tends to border on arrogance (though that is much, much weaker after the events of Dream Drop Distance thoroughly knocked him down a few pegs), and he can be rash and impulsive when it comes to people who clearly mean him or his friends harm. He's also not the brightest bulb in the pack, and while he's not stupid by any means, he is a bit oblivious and gullible. However, it's much harder for villainous types to fool him or play off his sympathies because he's quite good at reading intentions, even if he gives a lot of people the benefit of the doubt.

A main thread of his character in Kingdom Hearts 3 in particular is an increasing fear of losing his friends. In prior games, this wasn't something he ever thought about for more than a second or two, confident in the fact that his friends would always be with him in his heart and he in theirs. A variety of events have shaken that belief in him and he feels more unsteady in dealing with the world without them, ultimately leading to a breakdown like he's never had before when he thinks he's lost them for good- not just despairing the loss of them, but feeling his connections with them were his only source of strength and that without them he had nothing to fight for or with. He's very dependent on his connections with others.
POINT OF DEPARTURE: Nope
VETERAN?: Nope
ABILITIES: oh fuck A lot
-Power of the keyblade, which includes the ability to use it like a sword and unlocking worlds, pathways, hearts, and treasure chests, and also... locking those things too.
-Magic! Final Fantasy style magic so Firaga, Blizzaga, Curaga, etc.
-Summons; he can summon people through THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP and they can help him out sometimes. These people are Disney characters, like Stitch or Ariel.
-Flowmotion; interacting with objects in the environment to do fancy, glittery movement and attacks
-Scattershot; basically it's like magic missile where you lock on and the target gets hit with magic bolts, can also be used to airstep to really ridiculous locations
-Parkour essentially; just running up walls and shit and ignoring that gravity exists???
-Rage form; though none of his limit forms are in KH3 (I think they were tied to his clothes in KH2?), he still has access to this form, which basically looks like him as a smoky heartless and seems to trigger when he's low on HP in a fight. It refills his HP and strengths his offense while lower defense, and he can sacrifice his own HP to unleash an attack.
-The power of waking...? People keep telling him he doesn't have this but it's also kind of implied he's had it ~the whole time~ and just doesn't know how to use it for shit. It is not really made explicit what exactly it is, but it's how worlds and hearts can be reawakened.
INVENTORY: A handful of potions, his Gummiphone with all of his SWEET PICS, the armor/accessories he's wearing, and access to all his Keyblades.
ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW? Ok so there's a not unreasonable chance that the entire of KH3 takes place in an alternate universe but I'm ignoring that for the time being because Nomura why.

M A R K S;
JUSTIFICATION: In no particular order-
Fool: Sora started off the series as a perfect representation of the Fool beginning the journey, and while he has grown and gained experience, he still holds a lot of the same traits. In Kingdom Hearts 3 in particular, it is commented on by the villains that he's too open and too reckless, and he's even been reduced in power at the beginning of the game and basically is having to start over to get it back. Despite it all, however, he remains optimistic and cheerful, and always ready for an adventure.

Magician: Sora has so much energy and determination, oh my gosh. He does not stop ever.

Chariot: Sora is very impulsive and is overflowing with self confidence and bravery, and considering he pretty much keeps himself together by pure willpower at times throw that here as well. In Kingdom Hearts 3, there's also an increase in his anxiety, as he becomes more and more terrified of the idea of losing his friends, and the power and reason for fighting that they provide.
VETO:
Lovers: Given that 'heart' and 'connection' are LITERALLY some of Lover's keywords, the main reason I'm vetoing her is 'cause Peter is already hers and I try to avoid having two of the same Arcana.

ACTIONSPAM SAMPLE:

[Over the network, there's a very chipper voice coming through.]

Oh, hey everybody! My name's Sora. I hope I'm doing this right... it's kind of weird, just talking to people through their heads without seeing them, right? At least with the Gummiphone I could still look at people.

Anyway, I'm looking for my friends! Donald and Goofy should have wound up here with me, but if anyone's seen two guys names Riku or Mickey I'm looking for them too. It's kind of important, so if you see any of them let me know, ok? Thanks!

PROSE SAMPLE:
Sora still hadn't found any of his friends, and he was starting to get really worried about. He was sure they were all fine, since it wasn't some weird Gummi Ship crash or anything that got him here. They were all probably still back home, and maybe they didn't notice he was gone. The explanation was kind of confusing, but it sounded like time might just... stop, or something. It sounded a little too close to something Xehanort would do to make him comfortable with the idea, but at least they wouldn't be worried about him, right?

That doesn't mean he's not worried, though. They still need to find Aqua, and wake up Ven. His and Roxas's hearts are still inside Sora, after all, so he kind of needs to be there. And then there's that third heart Ienzo mentioned... whoever that belongs to, he's kind of holding them up too, just by being here, isn't he? Not to mention... he already misses his friends a lot.

But... it's fine. He's already making new friends here, and the ones back home- they're safe. Sora reaches up, curling his hand into a fist above his heart. Their connections are far away, but he can still feel them. They're still with him. And even if time is moving on... he's still with them, too. That has to be enough. He has to believe in them, the same way they believe in him.
